Custom Databases and Reports
For a uniquely structured business, it can be difficult to find off-the-shelf software that meets its needs. At the same time, as the business grows, it’s important to have scalable IT solutions. When our clients encounter these types of problems, we build them databases and reports that are tailored to their specific needs. Instead of trying to string together several partial solutions, it often makes more sense to address a company’s needs directly with some customization.
Formatting When it Can’t be Done Manually
A client had received records in PDF form, but they needed the infomation in a spreadsheet. The problem was, there were several hundred thousand PDFs, each of which had dozens of numbers that needed to be converted to text. In this case, we built a program that processed all the PDFs at once, turning a 6 month job into a 6 minute one.
Automatic System Connections
Our client was using 2 different online systems, one for managing their books and another for tracking their customers’ accounts. They soon discovered that they were spending a lot of time moving data between the two systems and making mistakes along the way. To remedy this, we built an integration between these two systems. Now, whenever customer financial data appears in one system, it is automatically transferred to the other.
Enterprise System Integration
When companies get large, they often find that software systems meant for small businesses no longer meet their needs. This is usually when they will move from accounting software, such as Quickbooks, to larger ERP systems. On the sales front, they might move from a smaller CRM to an enterprise one, like Salesforce. When these changes happen, companies often find that they would like the new systems to communicate with, or pull data from, other cloud platforms. In such cases, we were called in to build custom solutions.
Enhancing Spreadsheets
Most companies use spreadsheets. They are a cheap and simple solution for manipulating data. But at a certain point, they become impractical. Spreadsheets either become too cumbersome or they require too much manual work. Our solutions have addressed both of these problems, ranging from automatically formatting system-generated spreadsheets to replacing spreadsheets entirely with simpler solutions.
Records Extraction
Sometimes a company suddenly finds they need access to old records; however, the software that they’ve been using no longer works. That’s exactly what happened to one of our clients who needed to consolidate and analyze financial data spread across multiple computer systems. We built several conversion programs that pulled the data off the old system and transferred it into a newer system, where it could be viewed.
